Well, it looks like the count-down until the move has officially kicked off. Samantha and I drove back from Hilton Head yesterday, due to some traffic we were slowed down and because I promised a friend I would meet him at the theater to watch Stardust she had to drop me off there before heading home.
The movie was good, if you were already interested I would say definitely check it out. However, I was tired, and I was missing Samantha about half way through it. Shane took me home and the second I walked in the door I as greeted by…bags.
Trash bags to be exact, filled to bursting with…stuff. I called to Samantha “What’s in these?”
“Oh, just clutter, you know…crap I need to get rid of and don’t to move.”
“Ah, none of my clutter? You know how expensive my clutter is…”
“No Matt, just my clutter, I wouldn’t throw yours away.”
Whew! “Oh, good…ready for bed?”
She sighed “I still have to finish laundry and I want to get all this out of the way.”
Uh-oh, she’s tired and I wasn’t around to help! “Can I help?”
“Yeah, can you fold the clothes on the bed?”
Oh boy, she’s out of it, she actually *wants* me to fold clothes. “Ok hon.”
So, I folded clothes, got ready for bed, and read for a bit. It wasn’t until after the light got turned off that I really started thinking about how much I need to do to prepare for the move. In turn that got me thinking on all the other stuff I wanted to do and I began mentally making to-do lists. Ultimately, it all lead back to The Fox.
My boat has sat, largely neglected under a tarp in the back yard for the last year. I had every intention of working on it when I brought it home, however our current living situation was less than conductive to that sort of work. However, all that will shortly change. I’ll have a nice big uncluttered back yard in which to store it and work on it, AND I’ll have a garage in which to keep the neatly ordered, labeled, and filed pieces and tools required. I’ve also placed a stranglehold on my spending…no more toys…unless it has to do with the boat.
It rather stinks that I can’t find a way to make an XBox 360 link back to the boat, but I guess that’s just the way life is. Unless I install an LCD, that would take a power inverter but hrm, they make one for marine environments…oh, yeah and a solar panel to keep the battery charged. Thats not a terrible hassle… ARG so yeah, I’m going to get the Fox all beautified again and actually start sailing it. Wish me luck!

For those who were wondering, the answer to the pondering in the previous post *would* have been (b) however, due to my own thinkings, it won’t happen until I’m sailing a real sailboat again. Guess I’ll just have to borrow dad’s model from time to time!

Getting rid of all the garbage when moving is the fun part. Heck, I didn’t even both unpacking some things when I moved into this place, what 4-5 years ago now? And I know I’ll throw more stuff out when I leave and/or when I get new furniture which hopefully will be soon, did I tell you never buy a sectional??
